Winter Wear Designs Blog Tour; The Women's Button Up Blouse

One of this year's sewing goals for me is sewing more for myself. I sew a lot for my two youngest children but never really enough for me. I love the great fit, my choice for fabrics, well I love everything that my children love about me sewing for them. Last year I was so excited to stumble across Winter Wear Designs. What first lead me to WWD was the children's patterns, (They are super cute by they way!) but then I noticed the women's patterns. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! The first pattern of hers that I have sewn was love at first stitch!

This is my currant favorite of WWD patterns. It's the Women's Button Up Shirt. This is my second shirt to date, the second one this month. (Yes, if you sewn one shirt you will want to sew many more!!)  I cannot say enough how I love that the WWD pattern's for women are so well fitted to a real women's curves. I do not mind making a FBA or altering a pattern to fit me juts right but I am so excited to say that so far with each of the WWD patterns I have not had to do that one time. The princes seams that are on both the front and back of the skirt make for a fantastic fit, very flattering I think as well.

For this blouse I used some vintage dotted poly-blend fabric that was gifted to me a few years back. I have been saving it for just the right project and this pattern fit the bill perfectly. The drape of the fabric works so well with this shape pattern. I can both of the shirts that I have made will work well into spring and summer.

This is the Art Gallery Voile one I made myself earlier this month, I love how the different weight of fabrics gives this shirt a different look. Both of these tops are my favorite wear, the green one being my favorite clothing article I have ever made myself.

Sweet Pea and Pumkin Patterns; Branching Out

For the past few months I have been giving pattern making some serous thought. I really do enjoying sitting down and creating patterns. I have a several patterns ones I have made that I want to put into PDF patterns before I misplace them. (Yes that does happen a LOT.) With that thought I deiced "why not?!" So now Sweet pea and Pumpkin Patterns in born!

The sewing and pattern making I most enjoy is for the 18" dolls. So my first pattern is s cute summer tunic and dress with a high/low hem. This dress is a "breeze" to sew. (As where the name partly come from.)

I used art Gallery Voile to sew both cover photos tunic and dress. I also thought I would share all my lovely testers photos with you ladies as well. I really love how each of them came out!

I am not sure where this year will go but I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I guess that is normal though right?! I do have so many ideas and I hope that they will be enjoyed by others as much as I do.

Prince C and Mim Mim Bunny Friend

I started this purple bunny this past summer as a requested from my littlest one. He is a huge Kate and Mim Mim fan. After much looking around we couldn't find him a Mim Mim bunny anywhere for sale. Rather than leave Prince C sad we decided that mommy would make one. a crocheted on.... As I am sure you noticed the "I started last summer part" (yep it's winter now) I am faster at sewing than crocheting now. ha-ha! Long story but I get pain in my hands now so it makes crocheting harder. Did I give up, no I didn't!! :-)

Prince C was thrilled with this bunny friend, he started to spin and say the Kate and Mim Mim chant to head off to Mim Mim a lou. If you watch the show every episode Kate takes her stuffed bunny there, where he comes to life  and the two of them solve a problem there.  Prince C went there last night to solve the problem on how to make sissy be quite for bed time. I love his imagination!

I did sew the googles onto Mim Mim so that they wouldn't be lost but they still do fir over his eyes.

Next on my crocheting list?? Two Easter crochet hats!! At least hats are easier to make than stuffed bunnies. The hats have beautiful flowers all over of them.

We are off to have an adventure!!
